This war is about much more than Ukrainian territory: it’s an attack on the democratic freedom which is taken for granted by us, West Europeans. Ukraine and the Baltic states do not only fight on Ukrainian territory but also the front line between autocracy and democracy. Their fighting spirit provides food for thought: what if war knocks on our doors? Would we be willing to fight for what we value?
